Terms and Conditions
Version 2.0 · Effective 31 August 2026 · For ticket buyers and site visitors · Previous versions
1. Which terms apply to you
Tessera publishes two sets of terms. This one is for end users — anyone who browses Tessera, creates an account, or buys, receives or holds a ticket.
| If you are… | These terms apply |
|---|---|
| Buying, receiving or holding a ticket, or browsing events | These Terms and Conditions |
| Listing, selling or running an event on Tessera | The Tessera Terms of Service, together with the Data Processing Addendum |
If you do both — for example, you run events and also buy tickets to other people's — each set applies to the corresponding activity. Where the two conflict in relation to a particular activity, the terms governing that activity prevail.
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy, form the entire agreement between you and Tessera in respect of your use of the Service as an attendee.
By buying a ticket or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Who we are
The Service at yourtessera.com is operated by Tessera Pte. Ltd. (UEN 202344374N), 68 Circular Road, #02-01, Singapore 049422 ("Tessera", "we", "us", "our").
Contact: contact@yourtessera.com
Data protection: dpo@yourtessera.com
3. Our role — we are not the event organiser
This is the most important thing to understand about buying a ticket on Tessera.
Events listed on Tessera are organised and run by independent event hosts ("organisers"), not by us. Tessera provides the ticketing and event management technology. When you buy a ticket, you enter into a contract with the organiser for admission to their event, and a separate contract with us for the ticketing service.
This means we are not responsible for:
- whether the event goes ahead, or any change to its date, time, line-up, venue or format;
- the content, quality, safety or conduct of the event itself;
- the accuracy of the information the organiser publishes about their event;
- the organiser's own terms, age restrictions, entry conditions or house rules.
For anything about the event itself, contact the organiser. We will help you reach them if you cannot.
What we are responsible for is the ticketing service: that your purchase is processed correctly, that your ticket is issued and valid, that your data is handled properly, and that we deal with you fairly.
4. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old to buy a ticket through Tessera. Some events carry their own age restrictions set by the organiser, which may be higher, and which the organiser enforces at the door.
You may need an account to buy or manage tickets. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Tell us at contact@yourtessera.com if you think someone else has accessed it.
Give us accurate information. If the name or email on a ticket is wrong, you may be refused entry, and we cannot always fix it after the fact.
5. Buying a ticket
Prices and fees. The price shown at checkout is what you pay. Any booking or service fee is shown separately before you confirm, and no charge is made without your confirmation. Prices are in the currency displayed.
When the contract is formed. Your order is an offer. The contract is formed when we send your confirmation and issue your ticket. If we cannot fulfil an order — for example the event sells out in the seconds between your order and our confirmation — we will tell you and refund you in full.
Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. Tessera never receives or stores your full card number. Stripe may run fraud and security checks, and a transaction may be declined or held for review as a result. If an automated check blocks your purchase and you believe that is wrong, contact us at dpo@yourtessera.com and a person will review it.
Pricing errors. If a ticket is listed at an obviously incorrect price, we or the organiser may cancel the order and refund you in full rather than honour the error. We will always tell you rather than simply cancelling.
6. Your ticket
Delivery. Tickets are issued electronically to the email address and account you used. Check your spam folder before contacting us.
Validity. Each ticket admits the number of people stated on it, once. A ticket may be void if it is duplicated, altered, or presented after it has already been scanned.
Entry. Admission is at the organiser's discretion and subject to their conditions and the venue's. The organiser may refuse entry or remove someone for reasons including intoxication, unsafe behaviour, or failing an age or ID check. We do not control this and cannot refund you for it.
Transfers. Where the organiser has enabled ticket transfer, you may transfer a ticket through your Tessera account. The recipient is then the ticket holder and these terms apply to them.
Resale. You may not resell a ticket above face value plus any fee you paid, or resell it through an unauthorised channel, unless the organiser expressly permits it. Tickets found to be resold in breach of this may be cancelled without refund. Tickets bought using bots, scripts, or multiple accounts to evade purchase limits may be cancelled without refund.
Lost tickets. Your ticket lives in your account, so it can be reissued. Contact us.
7. If the event changes or is cancelled
Organisers set and change their own events. If an event is cancelled, postponed, or materially changed, the organiser is responsible for telling ticket holders, and we will pass on what they tell us to the email address on your order.
If the event is cancelled outright, you are entitled to a refund of the full amount you paid, including any fees — see section 8.
If the event is postponed or rescheduled, your ticket is normally valid for the new date. Where the organiser has enabled it, you may be able to request a move to another date or a refund through your Tessera account. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
If the event is materially changed — a substantially different line-up, venue or format from what was advertised — your rights depend on the organiser's terms and on the consumer law of your country. Contact us and we will help.
8. Refunds
Tessera provides ticketing on behalf of organisers. Refund decisions on discretionary requests belong to the organiser. Refunds required by law do not.
8.1 Where the event is cancelled by the organiser
You are entitled to a refund of the ticket price you paid. Platform and payment processing fees are non-refundable and are not returned. This applies regardless of the organiser's own refund settings. The organiser is responsible for funding the refund. We will process it to your original payment method once the organiser confirms the cancellation.
8.2 Where you request a refund voluntarily
- A voluntary refund is available only if the organiser has enabled refund requests for that event.
- If enabled, request it from your Tessera profile within the window the organiser has set.
- The organiser decides whether to accept or refuse. We do not overrule them.
- If approved, the refund excludes platform and payment processing fees, which are borne by you as the person requesting the refund.
8.3 How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to the original payment method. Timing depends on your bank or card issuer and is typically 5–10 business days after approval.
8.4 Your statutory rights
Nothing in this section removes any right you have under the consumer law of your country that cannot be excluded by contract. Where such a law gives you a stronger right than this section, that law applies.
Disputes between you and an organiser about a discretionary refund decision are between you and them. We will provide the transaction records you need.
9. Your personal data
Our Privacy Policy explains this in full. In summary:
We collect your name, email address, phone number, ticket and order details, and technical information about your device and how you use the Service.
We share your details with the organiser of the event you bought a ticket to. This is not optional and it is not based on your consent — it is necessary to perform the contract between you and the organiser. An organiser cannot run a guest list, check you in, or tell you the event moved without knowing who you are. If you would rather an organiser did not have your details, the answer is not to buy a ticket to their event.
The organiser is a separate data controller for what they do with your details after that. They are responsible for their own compliance with the PDPA, GDPR and any other applicable law, and for their own privacy notice. We require this of them contractually through our Data Processing Addendum.
We remain accountable for the disclosure itself — for sharing only what is necessary, for telling you it happens, and for binding organisers to appropriate obligations. What we cannot do is control an organiser's own later decisions, and to that extent our responsibility ends where theirs begins.
Marketing. We will not add you to a Tessera marketing list because you bought a ticket. Organisers may contact you about their events; opt-out requests for their messages go to them, and we will help you reach them.
Your rights — access, correction, deletion, objection, portability and more — are set out in the Privacy Policy. Exercise them at dpo@yourtessera.com.
10. Content you post
You may be able to post or upload content through the Service — a profile photo, a message to an organiser, a response to a registration question.
You keep ownership of your content. You grant Tessera a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display and transmit that content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service, and to the relevant organiser solely for the purpose of running the event you bought a ticket to. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account, except where we must retain it by law or where it has already been shared with an organiser.
We will not use your content for our own marketing without asking you first.
You are responsible for what you post, and you must not post anything unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or infringing someone else's rights. We may remove content that breaches these terms.
11. Acceptable use
Do not use the Service:
- for any unlawful, fraudulent or deceptive purpose;
- to interfere with, damage or degrade the Service, its security, or anyone else's use of it;
- to gain unauthorised access to any account, system or data;
- to scrape, crawl or harvest data other than through an interface we provide;
- to use bots, scripts or automation to buy tickets, or to circumvent purchase limits;
- to resell tickets in breach of section 6;
- to impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your association with anyone.
Breaching this may result in suspension or termination of your access and cancellation of tickets, without refund where the breach relates to how they were obtained.
12. Availability of the Service
We work hard to keep Tessera available and fast, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend it for maintenance, and will try to do so at times that affect the fewest people.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
13. Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that:
- We are not liable for the event itself — its cancellation, its content, the organiser's conduct, or anything that happens at the venue. That sits with the organiser.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or wasted travel and accommodation costs.
- Our total liability to you in connection with the Service and any ticket is limited to the total amount you paid to Tessera in respect of the ticket or tickets giving rise to the claim.
Some countries do not allow these limitations. Where that is the case, they do not apply to you, and your statutory rights stand.
14. Your liability to us
You agree to compensate us for losses, claims and reasonable costs we incur as a direct result of your breach of these terms, your unlawful use of the Service, or your infringement of someone else's rights.
This does not apply to anything caused by our own breach or negligence, and we will tell you promptly of any claim and give you a fair opportunity to be involved in how it is handled.
15. Intellectual property
The Tessera platform, and all text, graphics, trademarks, logos and design in it, belongs to Tessera or its licensors. You may use it to browse events, buy tickets and manage your account — nothing more. You may not copy, republish, redistribute or exploit it without our written permission.
Event content — names, artwork, line-ups — belongs to the organiser or their licensors.
16. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email contact@yourtessera.com with: a description of the work, the URL of the infringing content, your contact details, a statement of your good-faith belief that the use is unauthorised, and your signature (electronic is fine).
We will review and remove infringing content where appropriate. We may terminate accounts of repeat infringers.
17. Links to other sites
The Service may link to third-party websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, practices or privacy policies. Follow them at your own discretion.
18. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. Tickets you already hold remain valid; the organiser's terms continue to apply to them.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe your account is being used for fraud or abuse. Except where the breach is serious or urgent, we will give you notice and a chance to put it right.
If we terminate your account, we will not cancel valid tickets you already hold unless they were obtained in breach of section 11.
Sections 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 20 and 21 survive termination.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the version number and effective date at the top, and previous versions stay available in our policy archive.
For material changes we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email or through the Service before they take effect. Changes never apply retrospectively to a ticket you have already bought — the version in force when you bought it governs that purchase.
20. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer resident outside Singapore, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings there where that country's law gives you the right to do so.
Before going to court, please contact us at contact@yourtessera.com. Most things are resolved faster that way, and we would rather fix a problem than argue about it.
21. General
No third-party rights. No one other than you and Tessera has any right to enforce these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 of Singapore, except that organisers may enforce sections 3, 6 and 8 in relation to their own events.
Severability. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent. We may transfer ours to a group company or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, provided your rights are not reduced.
Notices. We will contact you at the email address on your account. Write to us at contact@yourtessera.com or at the postal address in section 2.
